Make a group
Name it, pick who is in it from your contacts or by typing a name, and
choose the currency. It exists on your phone immediately.

Add what people spent
Each expense records the amount, who paid, and who it is split between.
Leave people out of the lines that were not theirs.

See who pays whom
Half Tab keeps a running balance for everyone and works out the shortest
set of transfers that clears it. Record a payment when money changes hands.

Close it
Review where everyone ended up, then archive the group — and send the
summary as a PDF if anyone wants the receipt.
Bringing other people in
You do not have to. A group works perfectly as one person's record of who
owes what. But if you want everyone adding their own expenses, tap
Make it online, then share the link or let people scan the
group's QR code. Anyone who asks to join waits for you to approve them.
When there is no signal
Everything above works offline. Changes to a shared group are kept on the
phone and marked as not yet sent; the moment there is a connection they go up
on their own, and the marker clears.
